Working within the NHS

Within paediatrics, Oakfield’s emotional wellbeing practitioners support children experiencing worry, frustration, low mood or behavioural changes related to their physical health.

We help young people understand their feelings, develop effective coping strategies and build emotional regulation skills through child-centred, practical approaches. Our sessions focus on confidence-building, resilience, worry management and learning tools that help children feel more in control during medical appointments or procedures.

We work closely with paediatric teams to ensure emotional wellbeing is integrated into each child’s care plan. Parents are supported with strategies to use at home, helping create consistency and reassurance for the child.
